LESLIE MORGAN STEINER - Best selling author of “Mommy Wars” and Washington Post columnist, mother of 3

  • Wharton MBA graduate Leslie Morgan Steiner has been an executive at The Washington Post, Johnson & Johnson, Leo Burnett — and a mother of 3 — she lived and breathed every side of the “mommy wars” and decided to do something about it by writing Mommy Wars: Stay-at- Home and Career Moms Face Off on Their Choices, Their Lives, Their Families.
  • Currently writes the wildly popular online column“On Balance” for The Washington Post — from her office in the kitchen of her house.
  • Has worked full-time, part-time, flex-time and has been on sabbatical.

Risa Green, Author of “Notes from the Underbelly,” which is now an ABC-TV show, mother of 2

  • Author of two novels, Notes From the Underbelly and its sequel, Tales From the Crib, and is currently working on another novel.
  • Previously worked as a corporate attorney and as a college counselor at a private high school in Los Angeles, where she currently lives.
  • She attended University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law Center.
  • Currently writes for Mommytrack’d blog “Tales from the Mommy Track.”

Sarah Clarke, Co-host of “Sarah and No Name,” the Bay Area’s top-rated radio morning show on Alice Radio 97.3, mother of 2

  • Starts her mornings at 3am, works from 5am – 10am, and has the flexibility to be involved with her two boys and their school.
  • Previously worked in various markets around the country including Boston and Philadelphia while competing in a fiercely male-dominated field.
  • Currently one of the few working mom radio personalities, she has won a variety of honors from both local and national organizations including: “Best Radio Talk Show” from SF Weekly;
    “Radio Kudo Award” from the American Women in Radio and Television; “Best Local Radio Show” from the Bay Area Guardian and “Best Radio DJ” from the East Bay Express.

Kirstin Hoefer, Part-timeSr. Director eBay, End to End Buyer Experience, mother of 3.

  • Directly manages a product management team of 15 and a cross functional team of 125 people who drive the buyer experience at eBay; 20% of them are on flexible schedules.
  • As one of the first senior part time employees at eBay, she paved the way for others to follow.
  • She is active with the Stanford Women’s Initiative for work/life balance.
  • Has held a variety of positions at eBay in product management, was previously at excite.com, and has worked at several executive recruiting firms.
  • Has a Stanford MBA and 3 children.

MaryAnn McGrath, Current on-ramper working with Levi’s® and Creative Good, mother of 2

  • Prior to taking 6 years off to raise her children, she held VP positions at Gymboree, Saks and Escada.
  • A graduate of NYU’s MBA program, she transitioned into the world of fashion from a career as a CPA.
  • She has returned to the workforce on a part-time basis through Flexperience, working at Levi’s® and Creative Good as a consultant.
  • She has 2 children.

Lori McAdams, VP of Human Resources at Pixar, mother of 3.

  • Currently in charge of staffing, training, organization development, employee relations, compensation, benefits and all related functions at Pixar Studios.
  • Previously she also worked at Electronic Arts and Lucas Films in a variety of senior HR positions.
  • She worked part-time for two years when her three children were young, and currently works full-time.

Lin Stillman, Solo law practice for last 7 years providing flexible schedule, mother of 2.

  • Working from home, Lin manages her law practice providing legal work to clients including Nike, Gap, Williams-Sonoma, and Electronic Arts.
  • She previously worked for a variety of top law firms including: Dinkelspiel, Donovan and Reder, Shartsis Friese and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
  • Lin also pioneered a work from home schedule for Lucent, providing legal support for 13 state sales territory, while her children were younger.
  • She attended University of VA for undergraduate and JD. She is a non-profit volunteer with the Anti-Defamation League, and Congregation Beth-Israel Judea.

Natalie Mehta, a Senior Manager in the Deloitte Financial Advisory Services practice, mother of 3.

  • She is on the steering committee for Mass Career Customization, an organization-wide initiative where each employee may customize their career as their priorities change over time.
  • Natalie has been with Deloitte for 10 years and has always worked on a full-time basis.
  • She is also active in the Deloitte Women's Initiative and the Deloitte Parents Network.
  • Natalie lives in Oakland with her husband and three young children.
