PAIGE RODGERS

Co-founder, Fabkins

Words of Wisdom: Part of being a working mom is having to constantly re-adjust priorities to find the right balance. What that balance is will be different for everyone, so you just have to know what feels right to you.

Over the course of Paige’s career she has gone part-time, off-ramped and launched a business. After the birth of her first child, Paige returned to Autodesk in the same senior manager position, with management and budget responsibilities, but at 30-hours a week and a three-day flexible schedule. After the birth of her second daughter, she returned to Autodesk but in a new position at 20 hours a week. She was in that position for one year and then left when her mother was ill. In August, she launched Fabkins and returned to Autodesk as a consultant working 10 – 15 hours per week to keep up her income. Since starting Fabkins, she has met with many women, all moms, who have business ideas but don’t know where to begin. She wrote “I feel like we’re on the cusp of a new generation of entrepreneurs – moms with great ideas – so if I can provide some support, encouragement, and maybe a tip or two that can help them succeed, I’m grateful to have the opportunity.” A supporter of her stated that “there are lots of reasons to admire and respect Paige. She's a smart, easy-going , accomplished business executive in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors… an involved mom to two girls, and a passionate volunteer. What I most admire about her is her integrity, her commitment to others, and her ability to turn ideas into action.”
